Am I Responsible for Loading and Unloading the Truck?
At Icrom Logistics, Inc., 99% of our freight is no-touch. However, in rare cases, a driver may need to assist with loading or unloading. Rest assured, you’ll be informed about this beforehand when accepting the load.
Will I Be Responsible for Fuel and Maintenance Costs?
If you are working as a company driver, you won’t have to pay for fuel or maintenance related to your truck. However, as an owner-operator, you will be responsible for covering both fuel and maintenance expenses.
What Is the Typical Weight of a Load?
Load weights can vary greatly. A full truckload might weigh anywhere between 5,000 lbs and 45,000 lbs, depending on the shipment.
How Much Can I Earn Weekly?
Weekly gross earnings vary based on several factors, including whether you drive a team or solo truck and your level of flexibility. These factors play a significant role in determining the truck’s gross revenue.
Can I Rent a Trailer from You?
Yes, you can! We offer Dry Van trailers for rent to meet your needs.
Do I Need a HazMat Endorsement?
A HazMat endorsement is not required to haul standard cargo like foodstuffs, auto parts, or general freight. However, if you're interested in obtaining one, you can apply at your local DMV.
Am I Allowed to Take My Truck Home?
In some cases, yes, you can take your truck home. However, if you’re planning an extended vacation, our insurance policy requires the truck to be stored in our secured parking facility.
Can I Bring My Pet in the Truck with Me?
Yes, we are a pet-friendly company and welcome drivers to have their pets in the truck. We’ve never had any issues with drivers traveling with their furry companions!
What Is the Duration of the Orientation?
Orientation is split into two parts. The first is an Online Orientation, covering the key information applicants need to know. The second part occurs in our Lansing, IL office and lasts about half a day. During this session, applicants select a truck and trailer, complete necessary paperwork, and gain a deeper understanding of the company’s mission, vision, and values.
Are There Opportunities to Earn Extra Money?
Absolutely! At Icrom Logistics Inc., we strongly support and reward safe driving. Drivers can earn a safety bonus for each clean roadside inspection.
Am I Allowed to Have a Passenger in My Truck?
Yes, solo drivers are permitted to have a passenger in their truck. However, per company policy, the passenger must be at least 18 years old, and the necessary documentation must be completed and signed.
Are There Any Hidden Fees?
No, there are no hidden fees. All expenses are clearly outlined and shared with drivers upfront. We ensure applicants are fully informed and aware of their responsibilities before making any commitments.
What Do I Need to Do to Receive My Paycheck?
To ensure timely payment, you must upload all necessary paperwork (PPW) via the SmarTrackin app immediately after delivery. This includes all pages of the POD (clear and signed by the receiver) and any additional documents such as lumpers, scale tickets, stickers, and other receipts.
During orientation, you’ll receive an email with your SmarTrackin account credentials. You can download the app for iOS or Android, and detailed instructions on how to use it can be found here.
Additionally, original paperwork must be mailed to our office on a biweekly basis.
When Can I Expect My Paycheck?
Statements are issued every Thursday and sent to your email. You have until the following Monday to review the statement and notify us of any discrepancies. If everything is correct, ACH deposits are made to your bank account on Monday, with the funds available on Tuesday.
Is a Pre-Trip Inspection Mandatory?
Yes, pre-trip inspections are mandatory and must be done daily before starting your shift. Post-trip inspections are also required after completing the trip.
